Djokovic wins first ever Serbia Open

Belgrade - Serbia's best tennis player Novak Djokovic on Sunday won the first-ever Serbia Open by defeating Pole Lukasz Kubot 6-3, 7-6 in the final.

After an easy first set, Djokovic had some trouble in the second as Kubot made two breaks but failed to win to win the set in the tiebreaker.

The world number three receives 75,500 euros (102,838 dollars) and 250 ATP points for his victory, but will nevertheless fall to fourth place in the rankings on Monday.

Djokovic was the tournament host as his family bought the license for the tournament from a Netherlands ATP event and went into the first staging of the tournament as hot favorite to win the inaugural title.
